Frequently asked questions
Where do my photos stay?
Your original photos stay in the Photos app. Memo uses albums inside a folder you choose. The text and preferences you add in Memo are stored on your device.
Why does Memo need full access to Photos?
Memo reads and manages albums in your chosen folder. Full access lets you create moments, add photos to albums and change their order.
Does Memo delete my original photos?
Removing a photo from a moment removes it from that album, not from your photo library. Deleting a moment deletes the album; the original photos remain in Photos.
Can I use existing albums?
Yes. You can use an existing folder and add albums to the folder Memo uses. Read the confirmation when moving albums: changes to the album structure also appear in Photos.
How do I back up my words?
Open Settings in Memo and choose the export and import option. Export your data to a location you choose. This backs up your words and preferences. Back up your original photos separately.
Does Memo work without the internet?
You can view photos already on your device offline. Photos stored only in iCloud need to be downloaded first. Memo’s offline storage option lets you keep local copies. Maps may need an internet connection.
Is there a subscription?
No. Memo is offered as a one-time purchase. The current price is shown in the App Store.
Which devices are supported?
Memo is designed for iPhone with iOS 26 or later.
